What is HoopFest?
A platform for experienced and emerging players from the Canada Ismaili Jamat and multifaith family members to play and showcase their skills, with regional participation and a festival atmosphere. First year, intended to be annual.
Can I attend if I don't live in the host city?
Yes. East serves Toronto, NE/SW Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes; West serves BC, Edmonton, and the Prairies.
What do I get when I register?
At least 3 games, an event shirt, a swag bag, 2 lunches, social media recognition, and more.
When is participation confirmed?
Confirmation is given by the first week of June at the latest. Consider travel insurance and review cancellation policies when booking.
What is the difference between HoopFest East and West?
HoopFest West is in Edmonton, July 3-5. HoopFest East is in Toronto, July 10-12.
Registration
Can my team include players from different regions?
Yes, teams can include players from different regions.
Can I register without a team?
Yes. Free agents are placed on teams subject to availability. The earlier you register, the better the chance of placement.
Can I request to play with a friend?
Yes, there is a place on the form to request a friend or family member; requests are accommodated subject to availability.
Will I get a refund if you can't find me a team?
Yes, a full refund if we cannot place you on a team.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes, through national AKYSB. Ask organizers for the current assistance link.
Logistics
Why are some divisions 3v3 and others 5v5?
Divisions were set based on pre-registration interest by age and gender.
Can I play in more than one division?
No, athletes participate in one division.
Other
I love art, musicand dance. Can I still participate?
Yes. Opportunities for artists are being developed and shared via Instagram and WhatsApp.
