Privacy Notice
Last updated July 2, 2026.
This notice explains what information this website collects and how we handle it. We built the HoopFest hub to stay light on data, so there is not much to it.
It covers the HoopFest website only. Registration, merchandise, and the silent auction happen on other platforms that have their own privacy policies.
What we do not collect
We keep this simple. This website does not use accounts, passwords, or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers, we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles. For basic visitor counts we use a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool, described below under Page view counts.
You do not need to sign in to view schedules, scores, teams, or brackets.
Player and team information
We publish team rosters so families and spectators can follow the games. A roster can show a player's name, team, division, and jersey number. Scores are shown by team, not by individual player.
If you are a parent or guardian and you would prefer a name to be removed, or shown as a first name and last initial only, contact us and we will take care of it. See Contact below.
The Help assistant (Sadru)
If you type a question into the Help assistant, your question is sent to our artificial intelligence provider, Anthropic, so it can generate an answer. We keep an anonymized copy of the question and answer to understand what visitors need and to improve the event.
We do not store your name, your IP address, or any identifier alongside these logs, and we automatically remove obvious personal details such as email addresses and phone numbers before anything is saved. Please do not type sensitive personal information into the assistant. Its answers are automated and can be wrong, so confirm anything important with an organizer.
Sponsor counts
We count how often sponsor logos are shown and clicked so we can report simple totals back to our sponsors. These counts are aggregate only. They record that a sponsor was seen or clicked, not who saw or clicked it, and they are not linked to you.
Page view counts
So the organizing team can see how the site is used, we count page views two ways, both without cookies. First, on our own servers we record only the page address and the time it was viewed. Second, we use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool from our hosting provider, which reports aggregate figures such as total visits, popular pages, referring sites, device type, and general location (country or region).
Neither method uses cookies, records your name, or keeps your IP address to identify you, and neither follows you across other websites. These figures are anonymous and aggregate.
Links and embedded content
Some pages link to or embed content from other services, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Google Maps, Amilia, and Linktree. When you follow one of those links, or when an embed loads, that company may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, under its own privacy policy. We do not control those services, so please review their policies if you have questions.
Information stored on your device
We keep a few small items in your browser to make the site work. These include a random id so the Help assistant treats everyone fairly, a note of whether you dismissed the beta banner, and the tournament you chose (West or East) so we show you the right schedule and scores. Volunteer and organizer tools also keep an access code in your browser while you are signed in. These items stay on your device. They are not advertising cookies, and we do not use them to follow you across other websites.
Children and youth
This is a youth event, and that means we handle information about young people with care. We publish only what is needed to run the tournament and let families follow the games. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time to review, correct, or remove a child's information.
Contact and requests
To ask a question about this notice, or to request access to, correction of, or removal of information, email us. We will do our best to respond quickly, especially during the tournament.
Changes to this notice
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date shown above.
